Whether you’re capturing you’re own family at the beach or having professional photos taken, there are some things to look for to find the best place for beach photos in south Jersey. The beaches in south jersey are beautiful, but what makes them great for beach photos isn’t just about the backdrop. Here are 3 things that make a great location for beach photos in south Jersey this summer.
This is probably the most important thing when I am planning either a documentary beach session or a family session at the beach. I try to plan documentary beach sessions for either early morning or later afternoon so that there are less people at the beach. This creates a cleaner and prettier background. For a family session at the beach, an hour before sunset creates the prettiest light and also eliminates a lot of the crowds.
2. High Tide or Low Tide
If I could choose whether to have a session during high tide or low tide, low tide would always win! It helps create the perfect set up for gorgeous reflections by the water.
3. Beach Size and Path
I prefer a wider beach than a narrow one. This helps keep the background of photos free of distractions and also gives more room for the family to play. For family sessions at the beach, the bath to the beach can create a beautiful background.
